Wooster 4, Ohio Wesleyan 2

[ Lilly Jianas ]Junior attacker Lilly Jianas (Shawnee Mission, Kan./Pembroke Hill) and junior attacker Christa Cocumelli (Dublin/Bishop Watterson) scored goals that gave the Bishops leads of 1-0 and 2-1 respectively, but Wooster came back to defeat Ohio Wesleyan in a battle of North Coast Athletic Conference unbeatens on Wednesday in Wooster.

Jianas put the Bishops on the scoreboard in the 12th minute, fielding a diagonal cross from sophomore defender Jen Doud (Collingswood, N.J.) and slapping the ball into the left side of the Wooster cage.

Kate Valora tied the game for Wooster just over 2 minutes later, scoring on a long shot just inside the circle, but the Bishops responded with Cocumelli's score with 18:18 left in the first half.

Wooster's Eileen Barrer tied the game at 2-2 with a rebound goal just over 2 minutes later, and the first half would end in that same 2-2 deadlock.

The Fighting Scots took the lead with 13:50 left in regulation time when Laura German scored from a scramble in front of the Bishop cage, and German added an insurance goal with 9:29 left when her shot glanced off the stick of an Ohio Wesleyan defender and into the cage.

Wooster outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 13-7. Senior Krista Murray (Rochester Hills, Mich./University Liggett) was credited with 7 saves, while Madalyn Myers had 3 saves for the Fighting Scots.
