2nd of 8 at NCAC Fall Invitational

[ Tommy Harman ]Senior Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) shared medalist honors in leading Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAC Fall Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday and Sunday at Delaware Golf Club.

Wittenberg won the tournament with a 2-day total of 595. Ohio Wesleyan turned in Sunday's best round with a 299 to overtake Wabash and finish in second place with a 608. Allegheny was third at 627, followed by Wabash (631), Wooster (637), Kenyon (657), Denison (682), and Hiram (748).

The 36-hole event is the first of 4 regular-season tournaments which count toward determining the North Coast Athletic Conference's automatic qualifer for the NCAA Division III championships.

Harman carded back-to-back 73s to finish with a 146, tying Wittenberg's Ricky Boerner for medalist honors.

Senior Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) carded a second-round 71 to finish in a third-place tie at 149, joining Wabash's Sam Russell and Wittenberg's Craig Osterbrock.

Senior Peter Joyce (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) finished in 11th place with a 154, sophomore Caleb Chiero (Westerville/Central) had a 159, and sophomore Nate Fridley (Sidney/Lehman Catholic) shot a 170.

Ohio Wesleyan players competing as individuals included senior Michael Sarap (Cambridge), who carded a 72 on Sunday to finish in a tie for seventh place at 152; junior Thomas Fox (Galion), who tied for 12th place at 155; and freshman Mark Fischer (Garden City, N.Y.), who carded a 160.
