2nd of 8 at Hiram Fall Invitational

[ Peter Joyce ]Senior Peter Joyce (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) won medalist honors in leading Ohio Wesleyan at the Hiram Fall Invitational, hosted by Hiram College on Saturday and Sunday at Hawk's Nest Golf Club.

Wittenberg won the tournament with a 36-hole total of 600, defeating Ohio Wesleyan by 10 shots. Allegheny finished third with a 615, followed by Wooster (632), Denison (646), Wabash (650), Kenyon (676), and Hiram (761).

The 36-hole event is the second of 4 regular-season tournaments which count toward determining the North Coast Athletic Conference's automatic qualifer for the NCAA Division III championships.

Joyce shot a 71 on Sunday to pull into a tie with Wittenberg's Craig Osterbrock atop the leader board at 147, then defeated Osterbrock in a playoff to claim medalist honors.

Senior Jesse Chiero (Westerville/South) tied for third place among individuals with a 148.

Sophomore Nate Fridley (Sidney/Lehman Catholic) tied for 12th place with a 155, senior Michael Sarap (Cambridge) tied for 24th place at 161, and senior Tommy Harman (Perrysburg) tied for 29th place with a 166.
