[ Travis Wall ]Sophomore midfielder Travis Wall (Columbus/Upper Arlington) scored to erase a 1-0 deficit, but the third-ranked Bishops could not push across the game-winning goal and played to a 1-1 tie with Otterbein in non-conference action on Wednesday in Westerville.

The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute of play when Matt Beckett crossed the ball into the box, and the ball glanced off Bishop keeper Richard Ott (Norwalk) and into the net, with Beckett credited with the goal.

Ohio Wesleyan ended the first half with a 5-4 advantage in shots, and the Bishops would create more chances during the second half, outshooting the Cardinals by a margin of 12-3.

Wall made one of those chances pay off when he scored from the middle of the box, evening the game at 1-1 with 28:53 left in regulation time. Junior back Brian Greene (Beavercreek) was credited with an assist on the play.

The Bishops would outshoot the Cardinals, 6-0, during the 2 overtime periods, but the Bishops would not get the game-winner past Otterbein keeper Alex Kamphaus.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Otterbein, 23-7. Ott had 1 save during the first half and freshman Paul Hendricks (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) made 2 saves during the second half and overtime periods. David Dziedzicki made 2 saves in the first half for Otterbein, and Kamphaus stopped 9 shots during the second half and overtime periods.
