[ Tyler Wall ]Junior forward Tyler Wall (Columbus/Upper Arlington) scored one goal and set up 2 others as top-ranked Ohio Wesleyan defeated Wooster in North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday at Roy Rike Field.

Ohio Wesleyan took the lead in the 11th minute when Wall sent a corner kick into the penalty area and senior back Matt Giannetti (Montclair, N.J.) headed it home.

Senior midfielder Jordan Halloran (Springfield/Catholic Central) added to the Bishop lead in the 17th minute. Halloran blasted a shot that Wooster keeper Taylor Takacs blocked, but Halloran followed the shot and deposited the rebound into the Fighting Scot goal to make it a 2-0 game.

The Bishops struck again midway through the half. After a Wooster foul, junior back Eric Laipple (Westerville/South) served the ball into the penalty area. Sophomore midfielder Dylan Stone (Easton, Conn./Barlow) headed the ball toward the Wooster goal, and junior midfielder Ryan Harmanis (Hilliard/Davidson) finished the play with a header into the back of the net.

Wall set up Ohio Wesleyan's next goal, tapping the ball to sophomore forward Matt Bonfini (Dublin/Coffman), who finished the shot to make it 4-0 in the 36th minute.

Senior midfielder Eric Francis (Alliance/Marlington) added a goal in the 40th minute, heading home a crossing pass from junior back Brian Greene (Beavercreek) for a 5-0 Ohio Wesleyan lead.

Wall finished off the scoring in the 54th minute with a goal from the left side of the penalty area.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Wooster, 38-5. Freshman goalkeeper Paul Hendricks (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) made 4 saves during the first 73-plus minutes of play, and sophomore Steve Gobel (Wilbraham, Mass./Loomis Chaffee (Conn.)) was not tested during the final 16 minutes. Takacs finished with 11 saves for Wooster.
