Denison 146, Ohio Wesleyan 61

[ Brad Russell ]Senior Brad Russell (Delaware/Hayes) and senior David Gatz (Delaware/Hayes) each won an event in leading Ohio Wesleyan in a dual meet against North Coast Athletic Conference rival Denison on Saturday at Pfeiffer Natatorium.

Russell won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 141.55. Gatz won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:10.88 and added a fourth in the 50 freestyle.

Other standouts for the Bishops included senior Kevin Fahey (Delaware/Hayes), who finished second in the 1000 freestyle and third in the 500 freestyle; sophomore Nate Eckersley (Cleveland/Mayfield), who was third in the 400 IM and fourth in the 200 butterfly; sophomore Jesse Sheldon (Mansfield/Ontario), who placed third in the 200 backstroke and fourth in the 200 freestyle; freshman Jacob Perl (Mansfield/Senior), who finished third in the 50 freestyle; senior Max Seigal (Boulder, Colo./Fountain Valley), who was third in the 100 freestyle; sophomore Michael Gatz (Delaware/Hayes), who finished fourth in the 100 freestyle; and senior Chris Potterton (Needham, Mass.), who was fourth in the 200 backstroke.

The Bishop 400 freestyle relay team of freshman Devin Vansky (Marion/Harding), freshman David Reitan (Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon), Michael Gatz, and sophomore Evan Huddleson (Westerville/Central) finished second in its event.
