[ Usman Javaid ]Senior Usman Javaid (Lahore, Pakistan/Aitchison) won an event and swam on a pair of first-place relay teams, and senior Max Seigal (Boulder, Colo./Fountain Valley) won a pair of events as Ohio Wesleyan defeated Urbana in a dual meet on Friday at Pfeiffer Natatorium.

Javaid won the 100 butterfly in :57.66. He combined with freshman Jacob Perl (Mansfield/Senior), senior Kevin Fahey (Delaware/Hayes), Javaid, and junior Dom Schlabach (Delaware/Hayes) to win the 200 medley relay in 1:52.64, and teamed with freshman David Reitan (Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon), senior Andy Sisson (Greensburg, Pa./Greater Latrobe), senior Nathaniel Cook (Delaware/Hayes) to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:37.27.

Seigal won the 200 and 500 freestyles in respective times of 2:00.52 and 5:40.93.

Also winning events for Ohio Wesleyan were sophomore Michael Gatz (Delaware/Hayes), who won the 100 backstroke in 1:05.62 and placed second in the 200 freestyle; sophomore Nate Eckersley (Cleveland/Mayfield), who won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.81 and placed second in the 50 freestyle; and freshman Devin Vansky (Marion/Harding), who won the 100 freestyle in :53.85.

Other standouts for the Bishops included Cook, who finished second in the 200 IM; freshman Matt Magdic (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny), who placed second in the 100 freestyle; sophomore Reed Fogle (Delaware/Hayes), who was third in the 50 freestyle; senior Tony Wong (Cleveland/Cleveland Heights), who finished third in the 200 IM; and Reitan, who was third in the 100 breaststroke.
