at ITA Central Regional

[ Kevin Kahn ]Sophomore Kevin Kahn (New Albany) and senior Brandon Luttinger (Hingham, Mass.) stood out for the Bishops at the Wilson/ITA Central Regional tournament, hosted by Washington University on Friday and Saturday in St. Louis.

Kahn, Luttinger, and freshman Will Thieman (Columbus/Upper Arlington) each won their opening-round match in singles play.

Kahn defeated Stephane Antoni of Wittenberg in split sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, before falling to Kenyon's Charlie Brody by scores of 6-3, 6-1.

Luttinger bounced back after losing the first set to defeat Joey Frank of Ohio Northern by scores of 3-6, 7-5, 7-6. Luttinger then was defeated by Joel Parrish of Wheaton, also in split sets, by scores of 2-6, 6-1, 6-1.

Thieman defeated Preston Phillips of Calvin before falling to Kenyon's Paul Burgin by scores of 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles play, Kahn and Luttinger also won their first match before falling in the second round. The Bishop duo defeated Chris Atallah and Chris Brown of Albion, 8-5, then were ousted by Isaac Stein and Max Woods of host Washington, 8-2.
