Sophomore Evan Hitchcock (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) led the Bishops as Ohio Wesleyan opened its season with a triangular meet against North Coast Athletic Conference rivals Kenyon and Denison on Tuesday in Gambier.

The meet was not scored.

Hitchcock finished third overall, completing the 5000-meter course in 15:13.

Junior Cody Morrison (Caldwell) placed fourth in 16:18, finishing an eyelash ahead of sophomore Kale Booher (Covington/Newton), whose fifth-place finish also came in 16:18.

Junior John Thatcher (Centerburg) placed eighth in 16:34 and sophomore Sharif Kronemer (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) was ninth in 16:36.

Sophomore Kyle Lemke (Loudonville) finished 11th in 16:47 and senior Christian Schlabach (Wooster/Triway) was 14th in 17:00.
