Bishops' Bixler Named
NCAC Player of Week

DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University senior Sam Bixler (Denver, Colo./South) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 6, it was announced by the NCAC.

Bixler, a linebacker on the Battling Bishop football team, was named NCAC Defensive Player of the Week. He picked off an Oberlin pass to seal Ohio Wesleyan's 17-14 win on Saturday, with the interception coming on the first play from scrimmage after the Bishops had taken the lead with :16 left in regulation time. Bixler finished the day with 10 tackles, including 2 for loss, along with a forced fumble and a pass breakup in addition to the game-clinching interception.
