Senior outside hitter Kristin Kovach (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) and freshman outside hitter Meg Weissenberger (Toledo/Central Catholic) led the Ohio Wesleyan offense as the Bishops opened their season with a loss to Otterbein in non-conference play on Tuesday in Westerville.

Otterbein won the match by scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-11.

Kovach turned in a fine 2-way effort, blasting a team-leading 9 kills and contributing 6 digs. Weissenberger added 5 kills, shared the Bishop lead with 2 blocks, and added 8 digs.

Junior setter Sarah Marshall (Lima/Senior) collected 17 assists.

Freshman middle hitter Ashley Haynes (Norton) also shared the team lead with 2 blocks, and junior middle hitter Lainey Kekic (Canfield/Western Reserve) had 2 service aces.
