Freshman outside hitter Meg Weissenberger (Toledo/Central Catholic) turned in a pair of double-digit performances in kills to lead Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference matches against Earlham and Allegheny on Sunday at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa.

Earlham defeated the Bishops in their first match of the day, winning by scores of 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 25-21. Later in the day, Allegheny defeated the Bishops by scores of 25-17, 25-12, 25-21.

Weissenberger and junior middle hitter Lainey Kekic (Canfield/Western Reserve) posted 12 and 11 kills respectively against Earlham, with with senior outside hitter Kristin Kovach (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) adding 9 kills. Junior setter Jenna Teeters (Johnstown) led the Bishops with 36 assists.

Freshman libero Madison Stofcheck (Richwood/North Union) led the Bishop defense with 16 digs, with Weissenberger and Kovach adding 11 digs apiece. Kekic and freshman middle hitter Ashley Haynes (Norton) had 2 blocks apiece for Ohio Wesleyan.

Against Allegheny, Weissenberger recorded 12 kills to pace the Ohio Wesleyan offense. Teeters had 24 assists.

Defensive standouts for the Bishops included junior outside hitter Alexa Bean (Columbus/Upper Arlington), who racked up a team-leading 8 digs and added a solo block.
