Freshman outside hitter Meg Weissenberger (Toledo/Central Catholic) blasted 18 kills and senior outside hitter Kristin Kovach (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) added 16 more as Ohio Wesleyan rallied to defeat Denison in a North Coast Athletic Conference match on Saturday at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind.

The Bishops came back from a 2-sets-to-1 deficit to win the match by scores of 14-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-16, 15-10.

In Saturday's second match, Ohio Wesleyan opened with a win in the first set, but Wooster came back to win the match by scores of 26-28, 25-23, 25-19, 25-15.

Weissenberger led the way with 18 kills against Denison. Kovach added 16 kills and junior middle hitter Lainey Kekic (Canfield/Western Reserve) kicked in 13 kills.

Junior setter Sarah Marshall (Lima/Senior) dished out 44 assists, matching her season best.

Defensive standouts for the Bishops included freshman middle hitter Ashley Haynes (Norton), who collected 7 blocks; and Weissenberger, who contributed 4 blocks.

Junior outside hitter Alexa Bean (Columbus/Upper Arlington) led the Bishops with 30 digs, while Kekic added 23 digs, and Kovach finished with 18 digs.

Against Wooster, Weissenberger led the Bishops with 20 kills, with Kekic adding 11.  Marshall collected 30 assists.

Defensive leaders for Ohio Wesleyan included Weissenberger with a pair of blocks and 23 digs, Bean with a team-high 34 digs, and Kovach and freshman libero Madison Stofcheck (Richwood/North Union) with 22 digs apiece.
