Sophomore midfielder Belle Madison (Charlevoix, Mich.) scored to wipe out a 1-0 deficit, but neither the final 25-plus minutes of regulation time nor a pair of 10-minute overtime periods could determine a winner as Ohio Wesleyan and Adrian played to a tie in non-conference action on Saturday in Adrian, Mich.

Ohio Wesleyan enjoyed the edge in the first half, outshooting the Bulldogs by a margin of 10-4, but Adrian keeper Steffeny Burns recorded 4 saves to keep the game scoreless.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute on a goal by Sarah Evans.

The Bishops countered in the 65th minute on Madison's unassisted score.

Ohio Wesleyan had a pair of chances, first when the Bishops had 3 straight corner kicks before Madison sent a header wide of the goal in the 80th minute, then in the 89th minute when junior midfielder Chelsea Keller (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) sent a shot on goal that Burns tracked down to send the game into overtime.

Madison had a look at the Adrian goal in each overtime period, sending a header of a corner kick wide in the 96th minute before putting a shot on goal that Burns saved in the 105th minute. Keller had the Bishops' last chance, sending a header wide of the net during the closing seconds of the second overtime.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Adrian, 22-9. Junior Laura VanHoey (Rochester, Mich.) recorded 3 saves for the Bishops, while Burns finished with 6 saves for the Bulldogs.
