[ Megan Goodrich ]Senior defender Megan Goodrich (Brecksville/Laurel School) converted a penalty kick to give Ohio Wesleyan a 1-0 lead, but 21st-ranked Wilmington tied the game during the second half, and the teams played to a tie in non-conference action on Tuesday at Wilmington.

Goodrich gave the Bishops a 1-0 lead in the closing seconds of the first half. Wilmington was called for a hand ball in the penalty area with :02 left in the period, and Goodrich converted the ensuing penalty kick,

The Quakers evened the game early in the second half when Katie Skaleski headed home a corner kick in the 50th minute, with Kristen Elam credited with an assist on the play.

Ohio Wesleyan dialed up the offensive pressure after that, outshooting the Quakers, 14-1, during the remaining 40-plus minutes of regulation time, but the Bishops were not able to solve Quaker keeper Maria Larson, who had 6 saves during the half.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Wilmington, 27-11. Junior Laura VanHoey (Rochester, Mich.) recorded 2 saves for the Bishops, while Larson finished with 9 saves for the Quakers.
