Denison 5, Ohio Wesleyan 0

Kim Oshita and Anna Rusch scored 2 goals apiece as 17th-ranked Denison erupted for 5 second-half goals and went on to defeat Ohio Wesleyan in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Saturday in Granville.

The Bishops and Big Red batted to a scoreless tie at halftime. Freshman Margot Klepetko (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hastings) had 5 first-half saves and the Bishop defense cleared another shot off the goal line to keep Ohio Wesleyan in the game.

Denison took the lead in the 51st minute when Jen Clemmer sent a crossing pass to Oshita, who headed it home for a 1-0 Big Red lead.

Rusch made it a 2-0 lead in the 54th minute, taking a pass from Maggie Hoskin and connecting on a shot from 18 yards out.

Rusch struck again in the 60th minute, taking a shot from 30 yards out that sailed into the upper left corner of the Bishop goal.

Oshita and Clemmer connected again in the 69th minute, with Clemmer again sending a crossing pass to Oshita, whose header was true for a 4-0 lead.

Clemmer finished off the scoring just over a minute later with a goal off a pass from Tory Danis.

Denison outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 24-2. Klepetko finished with 9 saves for the Bishops, while Courtney Cobb had 1 save for Denison.
