Wittenberg 134½, Ohio Wesleyan 89½

[ Kendra Klossner ]Senior Kendra Klossner (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) recorded a pair of first-place finishes to lead Ohio Wesleyan in a dual meet against North Coast Athletic Conference rival Wittenberg on Friday at Pfeiffer Natatorium.

Klossner won the 100 freestyle in :57.38 and finished in a tie for first place in the 50 freestyle in :25.82. She also teamed with sophomore Ali Russ (Shaker Heights), sophomore Rachel Schlosser (Euclid), and freshman Emilie Schachtner (Williamsville, N.Y./East) to finish second in the 200 freestyle relay.

Sophomore Anne McComas (Beverly Hills, Mich./Groves) and senior Erin Hanahan (Madison/Perry) also won events for Ohio Wesleyan. McComas won the 100 backstroke in 1:05.56 and combined with sophomore Jill Simpson (Westerville/North), junior Marisa Obuchowski (Baltimore, Md./Pikesville), and sophomore Marina Metzler (Columbia, Md./Hammond) to finish second in the 200 medley relay. Hanahan took the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 213.10.

Other standouts for the Bishops included Obuchowski, who placed second in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke; Metzler, who was second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 200 IM; sophomore Michelle Strong (Londonderry, N.H.), who placed third in the 1000 freestyle; Russ, who finished third in the 200 freestyle; Simpson, who was third in the 100 backstroke; sophomore Holly Gilbert (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy), who finished third in the 500 freestyle; and sophomore Morgan Canup (Milford, Mich.), who came in third in the 1-meter diving competition.
