[ Pam Quigney ]Junior Pam Quigney (Mentor) stood out for the Bishops at the Wilson/ITA Central Regional tournament, hosted by DePauw University on Friday and Saturday in Greencastle, Ind.

Quigney received a first-round bye in the singles draw, then defeated DePauw's Elizabeth Young by scores of 6-4, 2-6, 6-1, in the second round before falling to Marta Drane of Denison, 6-0, 6-0, in the third round.

Senior Mollie Campbell (Burlington, Vt.) lost in the first round to DePauw's Nicole Hill, 6-2, 6-0, but advanced to the third round of the consolation bracket, receiving a first-round bye, then defeating Jasmine Carcieri of Principia, 6-0, 6-1, before losing to Kenyon's Erin Ivanoff, 6-2, 6-3.

Sophomore Becky Simon (Hilliard/Darby) lost to DePauw's Lizzy Whitlach, 6-0, 6-0, in the first round, then fell to Preeya Shah of Oberlin, 6-3, 5-7, 10-7, in the second round of the consolation bracket.

Sophomore Emily Kiourtsis (Pickerington/North) lost in the first round to Paige Madara of Washington (Mo.), 6-4, 6-2, then lost to Oberlin's Finley Gates in the first round of the consolation bracket by scores of 6-2, 6-7, 10-4.

In doubles play, Campbell and Simon defeated Grace Fox and Kristen George of Washington (Mo.), 8-5, in the first round before running into Chicago's Kendra Higgins and Chrissy Hu, the 2009 NCAA Division III doubles champions, and falling by an 8-0 score.

Kiourtsis and Quigney lost in the first round to Elizabeth Micheletti and Allison Paschold of North Central, 8-6, in the first round, and were defeated by DePauw's Whitlach and Anna Prasch, 8-5, in the consolation bracket.
