5th of 28 at Gettysburg Invitational

Junior Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) led Ohio Wesleyan at the Gettysburg Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday in Gettysburg, Pa.

Shippensburg won the meet with 72 points to 88 for Christopher Newport. Messiah was third with 127 points, followed by Gettysburg (139), Ohio Wesleyan (167), Susquehanna (185), Frostburg State (208), Marywood and Washington & Lee (217). Juniata finished off the top 10 with 308 points. Other North Coast Athletic Conference teams represented in the meet were Denison, which finished 14th with 376 points; and Earlham, which placed 23rd with 737 points.

Zimmerly finished fifth overall, covering the 6000-meter course in 24:10.87.

Senior Sarah Shinn (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) was 31st in 25:20.24, freshman Jane Lehman (Amherst/Steele) finished 32nd in 25:21.06, senior Hannah Winant (Gaithersburg, Md.) placed 36th in 25:45.01, and sophomore Emma Lisull (Ann Arbor, Mich./Greenhills) completed the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 72nd-place finish in 26:18.18.

Senior Claire Everhart (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) finished 81st in 26:30.98, and sophomore Maggie O'Connell (Hingham, Mass.) was 100th in 26:57.02.
