6th of 9 at NCAC championship

Junior Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) and freshman Jane Lehman (Amherst/Steele) received All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in leading Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAC championship meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio.

Oberlin placed 4 runners among the top 8 individual finishers to win the meet with 33 points to 76 for runner-up Wittenberg. Allegheny was third with 82 points, followed by Kenyon (93), Wooster (114), Ohio Wesleyan (126), Denison (168), Earlham (266), and Hiram (281).

Zimmerly finished 19th overall, completing the 6000-meter course in 24:49.3, with Lehman following in 20th place in a time of 24:50.1. Both runners were honorable mention All-NCAC selections.

Senior Sarah Shinn (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) was 30th in 25:20.5, senior Claire Everhart (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) finished 31st in 25:21.4, and sophomore Maggie O'Connell (Hingham, Mass.) wrapped up the Ohio Wesleyan scoring with a 33rd-place finish in 25:27.9.

Senior Hannah Winant (Gaithersburg, Md.) placed 40th in 25:49.7, and senior Kara Reiter (Chardon) recorded a 47th-place finish in 26:13.8.
