Sophomore middle hitter Tamra Londot (Utica) and junior outside hitter Megan Weissenberger (Toledo/Central Catholic) led Ohio Wesleyan during the first day of the season's initial North Coast Athletic Conference play date, held at Kenyon College in Gambier.

The first of 2 NCAC Play Dates of the season, in which half of the conference schedule is played, saw Ohio Wesleyan receive a brutal draw of defending NCAC co-champions Hiram and Wittenberg.

Hiram defeated the Bishops by scores of 25-14, 25-18, 25-12. Wittenberg then handed Ohio Wesleyan a 25-6, 25-4, 25-10 setback.

Against Hiram, Londot led the balanced Ohio Wesleyan offense with 4 kills, while junior middle hitter Ashley Haynes (Norton), junior setter Brittany Vickers (Newark/Utica), and junior outside hitter Heather Kuch (Aurora) added 3 kills apiece. The Wittenberg match saw Weissenberger lead the Bishops with 2 kills. Vickers had a team-high 2 assists, and Weissenberger and Kuch shared the team lead with 6 digs apiece.
