Last year, the Bishops finished with a 7-10 overall record and placed seventh in the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament. In 2006, Ohio Wesleyan won 3 of its last 6 matches on the way to a 5-10 overall record. The 2005 Bishops finished with a 9-9 record, including a 2-2 mark in NCAC West Division action. The Bishops went on to finish seventh in the NCAC tournament. In 2004, Ohio Wesleyan tied for the NCAC West Division title, the Bishops' first crown since the NCAC went to a divisional format for the 2000 season. The Bishops finished with a 7-12 record and were seventh in the NCAC tournament. Prior to coming to Ohio Wesleyan, Haddow was head men's tennis coach at Capital University, guiding the Crusaders to a 7-9 overall record, including a mark of 5-4 in Ohio Athletic Conference competition, in 2003. Haddow also is in his sixth year as head tennis pro at Northam Park in Upper Arlington. He also teaches at the Olympic Indoor Club during the winter season. Before taking the position at Northam Park, Haddow was assistant pro at Worthington Hills Country Club for 2 years. While at Worthington Hills, he was the head of the junior development program. He began his professional career as head pro at the Huntington (W.Va.) Tennis Club, where he spent 2 years. A 1990 graduate of Eckerd College, Haddow worked his way up to the No. 2 singles spot on one of the nation's top 10 teams in NCAA Division II. While at Eckerd, Haddow also ran cross country for 2 seasons. He graduated with a B.A. in psychology. Haddow began his coaching career at the University of North Alabama, where he spent 2 years as a graduate assistant in men's tennis while working toward a master's in psychology. He continued his education at The Ohio State University, earning a master's in exercise physiology in 2001. Haddow is a native of Upper Arlington and attended Bishop Watterson High
School in Columbus. |
