DELAWARE, OHIO -- The Ohio Wesleyan University baseball team will host an NCAA Division III Regional tournament, it was announced today.

The double-elimination tournament, scheduled for Thursday through Monday, will be played at Littick Field on the Ohio Wesleyan campus. Driving directions to Littick Field

Regional play will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday when Benedictine (Ill.), the region’s No. 3 seed, takes on second-seeded Anderson (Ind.), to be followed by top-seeded Ohio Wesleyan against fourth-seeded Hope (Mich.) at 3 p.m. Complete schedule

Ohio Wesleyan (29-15) won the North Coast Athletic Conference championship. Ohio Wesleyan is making its 13th NCAA Division III playoff appearance in the last 14 seasons and its 17th overall playoff appearance. While this will be the first NCAA regional tournament to be held at Littick Field, it is Ohio Wesleyan's second opportunity to host regional action. Ohio Wesleyan was the host institution for the 1986 Mideast Regional, which was played at Trautman Field on the Ohio State University campus.

Anderson (29-13) won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship. The Ravens have reached the Division III playoffs 6 times.

Benedictine (26-15-2) won the Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference championship. The Eagles are making their seventh NCAA Division III playoff appearance and their first since 2000.

Hope (20-15) won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association title and is making its third NCAA Division III playoff appearance.

The winner of the Delaware Regional tournament will advance to the Division III World Series to be held at Grand Chute, Wis. from May 23-28.
