Field Selected for 2005 NCAA Division III
Men's Cross Country Championships

INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee has announced the team and individual qualifiers for the 2005 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships.

In order to be eligible to participate in the championships, teams and individuals must qualify in their respective NCAA regions.

Twenty-four teams of 7 men each were selected to participate in the championships. The top teams from each of the 8 regions automatically qualified. Additional at-large berths (16) were awarded based on the following formula: The regions with the first 16 finishers in the previous year's championships were awarded the additional berths. No region can receive more than 5 berths.

Forty-seven individuals were selected to participate in the championships. All regions automatically qualify the first 4 individuals not on a team. Additional at-large berths (15) were awarded to those regions with the first 15 finishers in the previous year's championships.
