Local Retail and Entertainment

The recently constructed Polaris Fashion Place is less than 20 minutes from the OWU campus and serves as a classy, upscale shopping backdrop. Its anchor stores include Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, and The Great Indoors, while its specialty shops range from Ann Taylor Loft, Coach, and J. Crew to Brookstone, Bombay Company, and The Baggerie. The diverse Polaris food court is complemented by Starbucks, California Pizza Kitchen, Lindey's, and Molly Woo's (a Cameron Mitchell establishment).

Although it's a 40-minute drive away, Easton Town Center provides one of the region's most unusual shopping experiences. Based on an indoor/outdoor town square theme, its retail shops include Williams-Sonoma, Nordstrom, Talbot's, Apple Computer, Discovery Channel, Restoration Hardware, Abercrombie & Fitch, The Sharper Image, Pottery Barn, Eddie Bauer, Barnes & Noble, Gap, and Virgin Megastore. Easton's eclectic restaurants include The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's Chinese Bistro, Ocean Club (a Cameron Mitchell establishment), Johnny Rockets, and GameWorks, as well as two comedy clubs and a 30-screen AMC cinema.

Local State Parks

Alum Creek State Park » Alum Creek's impressive 3,387-acre reservoir and gently rolling span of fields and woodlands provide a hub of recreational activity, including camping, swimming, boating, and fishing. Highbanks Metro Park » Located off US 23 south of Delaware, Highbanks is appropriately named for its massive 100-foot high shale bluffs that tower over the Olentangy State Scenic River. This area has been designated a National Natural Landmark.
