Michelle Parish is in her third season as women's tennis coach at Ohio
Wesleyan University.
Last year, the Battling Bishops finished third in the North Coast Athletic Conference championship tournament, capping a season in which they went 10-8 overall record, including a 4-2 mark against NCAC opponents.
In 2006, Parish guided the Battling Bishops to a 12-8 overall record,
including a 4-2 mark against NCAC foes. Ohio Wesleyan finished fourth in the NCAC tournament.
Parish attended The Ohio State University on a full athletic scholarship
and lettered 4 times in tennis. She played No. 1 singles and doubles during
her junior and senior seasons and was named Big 10 Sportswoman of the
Year as a senior. She was a 3-time Academic All-Big 10 selection and received
a B.A. in psychology in 1995 and an M.A. in exercise physiology in 2000.
Parish has instructed at the Olympic Indoor Club in Columbus since 1995
and also has taught at The Lakes Country Club, Worthington Hills Country
Club and Jefferson Country Club. She began her coaching career in 1997
as junior varsity girls coach at Columbus Academy and is in her second
season as girls coach at Marion Pleasant High School. She also serves
as director of the Bernard Master Jr. Satellite Circuit, a Columbus junior
tournament for boys and girls that is in its second season of operation.
Parish is a native of Kettering, Ohio.
