NCAC Newcomers of the Year

OHIO WESLEYAN freshman James DiBiasio (Westlake) and freshman Alyse Marotta (Dublin/Jerome) were named North Coast Athletic Conference Newcomers of the Year during the 2008-09 academic year.

DiBiasio, a second baseman, was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year in baseball and was a second-team all-conference selection. He batted .375 with 2 home runs and 18 RBI. The Bishops' leadoff hitter, he compiled an on-base percentage of .450, led the team with 13 stolen bases, and led the Bishops and ranks fifth in the NCAC in runs scored (43).

Marotta, a midfielder, was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year in field hockey, and was a first-team all-conference choice. She ranked fifth on the team in scoring with 4 goals and converted both of the penalty strokes she attempted this season.
